Tips from the Public Safety Office
Avoid using cell phones when walking outside. Be cognizant of your surroundings at all time.
Enhance office/home security by protecting keys, access codes and all entry doors. Don’t leave doors propped open or leave them unlocked.
If leaving your home or place of employment alone quickly size up the area around and inside your car before approaching it.
Be aware of unfamiliar faces in your community. Report suspicious activity promptly by dialing 911. Give complete description and location.
If you find yourself the victim of a robbery, do not resist or pursue the suspects. Try and remain calm, listen and observe. Surrender any property requested by the assailant and report the crime to police immediately. SAFETY FIRST!!!
Attempt to park in well-lit areas.
Do not leave valuables in your vehicle in view for others to see. (Purse, cell phone, cell chargers, laptops, brief cases etc.)
Lock your vehicle and always display your parking permit.
