Cramming for finals and wrapping up the end of a semester can cause stress and anxiety for many college students. The Lofts in Orlando, FL takes that stress seriously and looked for a way to help relieve some of it. Enter Relaxation Rendezvous! The team at The Lofts had massage therapists come to the office and offered their resident $3 back massages to work out some of the tension from finals. They also offered healthy refreshments to give residents a little extra boost. Looks like they really have their residents’ backs…literally.
The Province at ECU in Greenville, NC has just had a major make over…or at least a temporary one! The staff at The Province has transformed their clubhouse into a huge 24 hr study space for their residents during FINALS CRUNCH TIME. Sometimes the same walls of a library or your apartment start closing in on you during long study stretches and a change of scenery is in order! The Province team even provided study supplies, snacks and drinks to give their residents a little extra boost.
Campus Village in East Lansing, MI held a community recycling event in honor of Earth Day. Recycling bins were conveniently placed by the office to encourage residents to do their part by bringing in recyclables. The bins were available all weekend so residents would have plenty of opportunities to fill them up!
River Pointe in Carrollton, GA is helping their residents deal with the stress college brings during an event on Stress Awareness Day. The team at River Pointe teamed up with the University of West Georgia and their peer educators to teach residents how to handle stress. They also made stress balls and grabbed some free food. And at this point in the semester, we are sure any and all stress reducers are greatly appreciated!
Helping others is a great feeling with long lasting effects. And it’s even better when those effects can brighten the day of a child spending a holiday in a hospital! The GrandMarc at the Corner staff and their residents helped to make Easter a little sweeter for the kids at UVA Children’s Hospital. The generous folks in Charlottesville, VA donated toys and goodies for the Spring of Smiles Easter Toy Drive. The drive was very successful, and their thoughtfulness helped bring a smile to many little faces on Easter.
River Pointe in Carrollton, GA is taking action all month long and inspiring others to do the same. Every Wednesday Tanner, a Marketing and Outreach Assistant for River Pointe, is collecting plastic bottles and cans to be recycled! The team at River Pointe is demonstrating how to make an impact and making it super easy for their residents to make an impact as well.
The Retreat at State College is always looking for ways to help their residents have fun and be active. And they are at it again. The Retreat hosted a “Sets on the Beach” volleyball tournament and both the participants and viewers had an awesome time. Residents enjoyed the beautiful spring weather and some even put in a little work…especially the winners of the tournament. Food, fun and fellowship really helps offset a lot of the stresses that the end of a semester can bring. And the winners ended up with a great workout AND gift cards for their efforts.
