The Courtyards in Ann Arbor, MI hosted a resident event that educated and fed their residents with summer knowledge and treats. The Courtyards held a Summer Safety event with tons of helpful tips on tons of helpful topics like all-terrain vehicles, summer insects, skateboard, scooter, in-line skating and heelys, lawn mower and firework. The team also passed out snacks and swag to those in attendance. Not only did their residents walk away more equipped to #SummerSmarter, they also walked away with lip balm, water bottles, frisbees and sunglasses.
Sunglasses aren’t just a fashion accessory, they are protection for your eyes. According to the National Eye Institute, wearing glasses that block out 99 to 100% of both UVA and UVB radiation can keep your vision sharp and eyes healthier. All EdR communities shared the importance of wearing sunglasses on social media and some even gave them away! The Hub and Campus Village helped students snag a pair of sunnies and raise awareness on National Sunglasses Day.
The Hub in Madison, WI celebrated National Hydration Day with a great way to stay hydrated. The Hub gave out free swell bottles to help people that toured the community remember the importance of drinking enough water. What a swell idea.
Campus Lodge in Gainesville, FL laid out a pretty sweet salad situation for their residents during their Super Salad Bar event. Salad and tons of toppings were on hand for a light lunch. A great start to the week!
The Province and The Lotus in Boulder, CO have started a new social media initiative focused on a healthier summer. Their “Summer Swoll Series” focuses on a different 30 minute workout every Wednesday. Each week they will focus on a different area of the body and provide the details for a quick, effective workout on their Facebook pages. Super helpful, super quick, super awesome!
It’s not uncommon for EdR communities to provide refreshments to their residents and guests, but Lokal Apartments in Fort Collins, CO just stepped up their refreshment game. Infused water is now available for their residents with different fresh fruit flavors and yummy snacks to go along with it. It’s a great way to provide a refreshing treat for their residents and a great way to show their residents how easy, and tasty, it is to drink plenty of water every day, especially in the warmer months.
The Province at Kent in Kent, OH is keeping it’s residents covered when it comes to summering smarter. And we aren’t just talking about keeping them hydrated! In addition to providing lots of cool drinks, The Province also provided sunscreen and sunglasses poolside for their residents. It’s a little easier to summer smarter when you live somewhere that has your back.
