Alcohol Awareness at GrandMarc

GrandMarc at Westberry Place in Fort Worth, TX shared some valuable knowledge about how to make smarter decisions, specifically regarding alcohol.  The team at GrandMarc teamed up with police and TCU Alcohol and Drug Education Center who collaborated and gave a seminar on alcohol awareness.  The seminar began with questions about alcohol awareness.  The objective was to review previous encounters that the students had with the ADE Center during freshmen orientation and to identify specific topics needing further review.  Valuable information about alcohol awareness and alternatives to partying smarter were shared along with a few yummy snacks.  Great information to have on hand as students enter a new semester.

The Retreat’s Puppy Pool Party

The Retreat at Louisville knows the importance of keeping residents happy, both two-legged and four-legged. They held a Puppy Pool Party and encouraged residents to bring their dogs and cats for a furrrrrific time.  (Had to do it.)   Pet owners and non pet owners enjoyed this event.  Some let their furry friends have their moment in the sun and some just sat back and soaked in all of the cuteness. Treats were on hand for pets and humans.  And pet safety tips were also shared to make sure those fur babies are well taken care of.

Fort Collin’s Self Defense Class

Pura Vida Place, Lokal Apartments, and Carriage House in Fort Collins, CO teamed up to offer their residents a pretty crucial life lesson.  The team brought in Beautifully Savage Boxing Studio to hold a self defense class that taught residents techniques that could be life saving.  Self defense is one of those things you hope you never need, but the residents that participated in the class are better prepared should they ever need to use it!

University Park Helping Harvey Victims

Neighbors don’t have to be next door and your community can extend beyond your zip code.  A community hundreds of miles from Houston noticed a need and decided to act.  They encouraged residents to help these “neighbors” as well.  University Park in Salisbury, MD is collecting donations for Hurricane Harvey Relief. All donations will go directly to the George R. Brown Convention Center Hall in Houston, Texas.  Donation suggestions were shared with residents and a donation box was conveniently located in the front office for easy drop offs.
